Button Bear

The weather has been rather dreary here lately, so I wanted to make something bright and summery for an upcoming birthday. Bugaboo Stamps' image 'Button Bear' is so cute I had to use it for this card. I'm sure my friend's little girl will love it.

I have used the following materials to create this card:

  • Papermania card, patterned paper and buttons
  • Black gel pen
  • Little Claire Designs outline stickers
  • Ribbon from The Works
  • Embossing folder from Cardmaking & Papercraft
  • ProMarkers - Buttercup, Tulip Yellow, Mustard, Peach, Mango, Bright Orange, Sandstone, Caramel, Burnt Sienna & Cool Grey 4

Wardrobe Stepper Card

I've been wanting to make this card for a while since seeing a version of it on a magazine website, but I hadn't got around to it. This week's challenge at The Crafter's CafĂ© Challenge Blog has given me the perfect opportunity to try it out.
Our theme this week is 'Girly' and our sponsors are:

I have chosen the 'Playing Dress Up' image from Guylou's Inimitability because it fits the theme and my card style perfectly.
Guylou has to say about this image: "Playing Dress-up was inspired by my childhood when I used to go into my mom's closet and put on some of her clothes. I think all little girls have the desire to be like their mom. I surely did! My mom is a wonderful woman and a great role model. Walking in her shoes is a big challenge, but something I aspire to do every day."
It took a bit of fiddling making the coat hangers from paperclips, but I think they came out quite well.

I have used the following materials to create this card:
  • Papermania card and brads
  • Clothing images from Google
  • Glitter glue and paperclips from my stash
  • Indigo Blu stamps
  • Whispers Dye Ink
  • ProMarkers - Oatmeal, Soft Peach, Sandstone, Caramel, Burnt Sienna, Buttercup, Tulip Yellow, Mustard, Raw Sienna, Berry Red, Cobalt Blue, Bright Orange, Mango, Blossom, Pink Carnation, Fuschia, Tea Green, Mint Green and Pine

Steampunk Cupcake

As you may know if you follow me, I love Steampunk, so I just had to have this wonderful image from MelJen's Designs!
I've also just bought a more masculine embossing folder, as I had lots of flowery ones which just don't really suit male cards. I thought this would go really well with the Steampunk theme.
I asked for suggestions on Twitter for what colours to use on the image and I was told "It has to have gold on it somewhere", so I've used a gold card and some gold glitter pen.

I have used the following materials to create this card:
  • Card blank from Hobbycraft
  • Core'dinations Tim Holtz Kraft Core cardstock
  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations 'Diamond Plate' embossing folder
  • Papermania brads, eyelets, glitter & Chronology Cogs stamp
  • Heat It Up! embossing powder
  • ProMarkers - Tea Green, Mint Green, Pine, Satin, Pastel Beige, Sandstone, Caramel, Burnt Sienna, Arctic Blue, Cool Grey 3, Cool Grey 4  & Black

Special Mommy

I'm back again with some more DT inspiration for The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog. This week our theme is 'Mom or Special Lady' and our sponsors are:

I have chosen 'My Sweet Mommy' from The Paper Shelter as feel this fits perfectly with the theme.
The designer had this to say about the image - "My husband Pedro make the drawings on  paper and I do all the rest. The inking and coloring with digital tools. It’s just a cute mother’s day image. Nothing else to say about it"

I have used the following materials to create this card:
  • Blank card from HunkyDory
  • Patterned paper from Craftseller magazine
  • Ribbon, 3D foam pads & gel pen from my stash
  • ProMarkers - Primrose, Lemon, Canary, Tulip, Mustard, Mango, Bright Orange, Sandstone, Caramel, Burnt Sienna, Lime Green, Bright Green, Blossom, Pink Carnation, Fuchsia Pink, Cobalt Blue, True Blue, Lipstick Red, Berry Red & Crimson

Lady Raven

I coloured this wonderful image from KennyK a while ago, but got distracted making other cards and hadn't used it!
Lady Raven is a stunning image and also a bit vampy, so I thought a black and purple card would be perfect for her. I've used liquid embosser on her eyes, lips and boots to give them some shine.

I've used the following materials to create this card:
  • Papermania - card, pearls, ribbon and 100% cotton patterned paper
  • Anita's 3D gloss
  • Lace from Hobbycraft
  • Eyelets and rose embellishment from my stash
  • ProMarkers - Black, Cool Grey 2, 3 & 4, Buttercup, Tulip Yellow, Mustard, Raw Sienna, Lipstick Red, Crimson, Tea Green, Mint Green, Pine, Lilac, Amethyst & Purple
